The Town of Ripley Water and Sewer Department provides services to Ripley, NY and its residents.
On the water side, our goal is to provide safe, clean drinking water for our customers. Our current system has been operating since 1989 and has been able to exceed the standards necessary to do so. As our Town is working on growing businesses within our community, we are working with our engineers and the Department of Health to make sure that we can supply the necessary resources with out compromising our standards in water quality and services to our residents.

On the Sewer side, our job is to process all biological wastes produced with in our districts. Our current system has been up and running since 1985, and we are constantly working with our engineers and the Department of Environmental Conservation to perform upgrades and changes to the system that increase efficiency, safety, and intake.

We are happy to hear from our customers and are always willing to assist where we can. We are a small crew that is always in motion, but we will find the time that is needed to address any concerns or questions you may have.
Please see the Clerk's Office to sign up for notifications from the department through mass text messages.

Quarter 3: Sent out in October (no grace period)
Quarter 4: Sent out in January

All bills are due 30 days from the issue date; Due dates are printed on the bills when issued.

2026 LATE FEES

Day 1 – 30: no fees
Day 31- 60: Grace Period
Day 61: 5% late fee

Bills are charged a late fee of 5% on day 61 of being late. No additional fees will be charged on that specific bill unless it is not paid by the relevy period.

At the time of relevy in November, there will not be a grace period or a penalty period for Quarter 3 billing. But we will begin the relevy process after the printed due date on the bill, this means no payments will be accepted at that time. The relevy process takes several weeks as we are compiling the accounts. All accounts will be reset to zero and any amount due to the Water and Sewer Department is forwarded to the County with an additional 5% Relevy Fee to be placed on the property tax bill.

Once the Relevy process has started we cannot stop it, so we are recommending if there is a balance that is carried on your account, to have it taken care of by the November Due date to prevent it from being relevied onto your property taxes.
